NAZIA AFTAB FILMMAKER | KOLKATA

I am an independent filmmaker currently based in Kolkata, with nine years of experience in Producing and Directing short films, music videos, corporate films and documentaries.

My first short film, Lullaby (2012), of which I was an executive producer and director, was screened in Kolkata International Film Festival and Mumbai International Film Festival in 2013.

In 2014, I produced and directed another short film, Taxi Driver, which was selected one of the top five films in Cineshorts - Season I by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. Taxi Driver nationally premiered on MTV Indies in 2014. It went on to be shown at the Tokyo International Short Film Festival in 2015 and at the 4th Kolkata Short International Film Festival in 2015 where it received a certificate of excellency and its currently streaming on Hungama Play and Airtel Xstream.

In 2017, I made a short psychological thriller, Out Of Order, which was shown at Manhattan International Film Festival 2017, and which is now streaming on Pocket Films, Hungama Play and Airtel Xstream.

From 2019-2020, I worked as Creative Head in an OTT platform, www.focalength.com and while I was with them, I produced and directed another short film, Udecide (2019). I entered this in a short film competition in the category Twisted Tales at www.focalength.com, which received an award in 2020 for the highest audience votes and now its streaming on MX Player.

In 2022 I made my latest short film, Dugga Dugga and its streaming on MX Player, Hungama Play and Airtel Xstream and Shorted.

In between making these short films, I kept myself busy by making Music Videos, Corporate films, Documentaries and Event Films.
