I am Zeeba Shaikh. I come from a Bengali family though my name is Persian in origin. I guess am lucky to have a nice blend of things in my life: I was brought up by a chef and a professor. Both my parents have taught me the art of meticulousness, be that in life or academics, or all the creativity that I have been able to harness. I am more sensitive towards visuals than towards words. Art was in its raw form inside me but the strict regime of organisation that I learnt from the two perfectionists helped me give shape to my art. Thus, to me, the dance form Kathak and Karate, though completely disjointed, are in harmony as both are forms of expression.
