'Ninad' means "voice", "resonance", also "the sound of waterfall"; it had to be singing then for him. Not from childhood though. The spark was ignited when his mother, who was a semi-professional singer, expired in 2010. A chemical engineer from ICT, Ninad decided to pursue music after graduation and started learning professionally. He has four years of learning experience in Hindustani classical vocals and nuances of playback singing under the guidance of Mr Sanjeev Chatterjee and Mrs.Ragesree Deb. He is a die hard fan of Sonu Nigam and has a dream of making a tribute for him someday. He has delivered backing vocals for stalwarts like Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan and other new age singers. Ninad's first music video "Fairy from the tales" was featured in MTV Indies channel and is currently working with many new age music composers.

Grown up following Mohd Rafi sahab, Kishore Da, Lata ji, Asha ji, Sonu Nigam and such stalwarts of playback singing, it really amazes him how singing is such an incredible vehicle through which feelings can be expressed beautifully. Normally not a very expressive person, he resorts to singing as a medium through which he can express himself fully. Soulful music appeals to him, be it any style or genre. He aims to be a versatile performer and work with legends like A.R.Rahman, Pritam, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, and new age composers: Sachin-Jigar, Amit Trivedi and Mithoon Sharma.

Ninad believes there are no free lunches, and that hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. He desires to use his God gifted instrument to the optimum, touch people's hearts through his singing and at times, even mesmerize them.
